Questions? We have answers. Here you will find everything you need to know about your stay with us – from your arrival to that too-soon moment when it’s time to say goodbye.
When can I check in? Your room will be available from 3:00 p.m. (at the latest) on the day of arrival. We give priority at check-in to families with young children so the little ones feel at home right away.
When do I have to check out? On the day of departure, we kindly ask you to vacate your room by 10:00 a.m. at the latest.
When should I settle my bill? Ideally, on the evening before departure, between 4:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. That gives you a little more time on the day you leave and makes for a more relaxed departure.
How can I pay my bill? You can pay in cash, by debit card, or by credit card. We accept Mastercard and Visa.
Can you pick me up from the airport or train station? Certainly! We’ll be happy to arrange a shuttle transfer for you from Salzburg Airport or from the railway stations in St. Johann im Pongau, Bischofshofen, or Schwarzach. Please ask reception about the fee in advance.
Where can I park? There is free parking at the hotel. Underground parking spaces are available at the hotel and at the valley station of the Kieserlbahn cable car, subject to availability. To be sure of a space, you can reserve a dedicated underground parking spot for €7.00. An e-charging station is also available in the underground car park for a fee.
What is included in my room? All rooms have a balcony or terrace (except for the “Almwiese” and “Fuchsbau” categories), a desk, chair, safe, flat-screen cable TV, shower, toilet, cosmetic mirror, hairdryer, towels, and free Wi-Fi. In other words, everything you need for a relaxing stay.
What is the Wi-Fi password? The password is handywegimurlaub. So you can stay connected whenever you feel like dipping back into the digital world.
Do I need to bring equipment for my baby or toddler? No need. We can provide a cot, highchair, bottle warmer, kettle, and nappy bin. Just let the reception team know what you need.
Can I get fresh towels? Of course. Just leave your used towels on the floor, and we’ll replace them with fresh ones.
When is the wellness area open? Our cosy wellness area with a sauna is open daily from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sauna towels are provided.
Can I borrow a bathrobe? Of course. Bathrobes and a spa bag are available from reception for a fee.
Is there a fitness room? Exercise is part of the experience! The fitness room is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
When is breakfast? Breakfast is served from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Take your time and start the day at a leisurely pace.
When is the CandyBar open? Daniela’s sweet creations are available from 12:00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. – ideal for a delicious break in the middle of the day.
When can I eat at the PfandlWerk? The Ziach & Candy kitchen is open from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. On Sunday, we invite you to join us for a sociable barbecue event.
How late is the bar open? The doors and taps are open until midnight, plenty of time to wind down at a relaxed pace.
What are the children’s rates? Children under 5 stay for free when sharing a room with two full-paying adults. Children aged 5 to 10 receive a 70% discount, while those aged 11 to 14 receive a 50% discount. Guests aged 15 and over, as well as additional adults, receive a 20% discount.
Can I bring my dog to the hotel? Absolutely. Dogs are part of the family! You’ll find the current rates for dogs at the link below. Please bring their food and a dog blanket. Dogs are not allowed in the breakfast room or wellness areas but can relax alone in your room. In the evening, we simply ask that you let us know whether your four-legged companion will be joining you for dinner.
Can I smoke in the hotel? Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the hotel. If you would like to smoke, please use your balcony or step outside the main entrance. Thank you for your understanding.
Where is the nearest bank or cash machine? The nearest cash machine is right next to the ticket office at the valley station of the Panorama gondola lift. You’ll find the Raiffeisen bank in the town centre.
Where can I go shopping? There are several options close by: Intersport Lackner and Lifestyle by Lackner are just 50 metres from the hotel. You’ll also find Modetreff Pichler and Sport Panorama. For groceries, there’s Billa next to the Panorama gondola lift valley station or ADEG on the market square. For souvenirs, we recommend the Alpstore on the market square.

Where can I hire skis? You can hire skis from Skischule Panorama (50 metres to the left of the hotel, tel. +43 6414 020541), Skischule Lackner (50 metres to the right of the hotel, tel. +43 6414 269), or Sport 2000 Kendlbacher at the valley station of the Kieserlbahn cable car (around 100 metres from the hotel, tel. +43 6414 210).
Are there any ski schools nearby? Yes. Skischule Panorama and Skischule Lackner are both right by the lift’s valley station, around 50 metres from the hotel.
Where can I go cross-country skiing? Together with neighbouring Hüttschlag, the local cross-country trail network covers around 30 kilometres. There is also an illuminated two-kilometre trail, which is open on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Is there a toboggan run? Yes. In the beautiful Ellmautal, a side valley of Grossarl, you’ll find a three-kilometre natural toboggan run, which is illuminated at night. Our reception team will be happy to give you the details.

Can I hire bicycles from the hotel? Yes, we have e-bikes available for hire. The daily hire fee is €45. Alternatively, you can hire bikes from Bikeverleih Panorama (50 metres to the left of the hotel, tel. +43 6414 020541), Intersport Lackner (50 metres to the right of the hotel, tel. +43 6414 08301), or Sport 2000 Kendlbacher (tel. +43 6414 0210).
What activities are on in summer? The Grossarltal valley is known for its numerous (around 40!) managed Alpine huts and more than 250 kilometres of marked hiking trails. And if you enjoy biking, you’ll find some of the region’s most popular trails right here. As a certified hiking hotel, we offer two guided hikes and one bike tour with trained guides each week. Prefer to let the cable car handle the climb? The Erlebnisberg Grossarl offers relaxed high-altitude hiking with wonderful views. Maps and hut guides are available from reception.
What does the Sport- und Freizeitzentrum (sports and leisure centre) offer? There you’ll find an adventure pool, beach volleyball court, tennis court, mini-golf course, football pitch with artificial turf, multi-purpose court for street football and streetball, and a children’s adventure area: “Das kleine Tal der Almen”.
Is there a hiking bus? Yes. The hiking bus and hiking taxi make it easy to reach some of the best starting points for your walks and tours.
Where can I post my mail? You can post postcards and letters at Intersport Lackner (50 metres to the right of the hotel) or at the valley station of the Panorama gondola lift. The post box is emptied daily. The post office is located in the Expert Prommegger shop opposite the petrol station.
Is there a laundry service? Yes. Our reception team will be happy to provide all the details.
Where can I find newspapers? Daily newspapers and a selection of magazines are available at reception. You’ll also find various magazines and brochures in the reception area.

Where exactly is the hotel located? You’ll find us in the Unterberg area. The town centre can be reached via the roundabout at the southern entrance by turning in the direction of the church. Grossarl lies at 920 metres above sea level in the beautiful Grossarltal valley, around 70 kilometres south of Salzburg.
Where is the tourist information office? The tourist information office is located right in the centre of Grossarl.
Opening hours in summer: Mon–Fri 9 a.m.–12 p.m. & 2 p.m.–6 p.m., Sat 9 a.m.–12 p.m.
Winter opening hours: Mon–Fri 9 a.m.–12 p.m. & 2 p.m.–6 p.m., Sat 9 a.m.–12 p.m. & 2 p.m.–4 p.m., Sundays and bank holidays 9 a.m.–12 p.m.
Is there a petrol station nearby? Yes. There’s a petrol station (tel. +43 6414 8862) in the town centre.
Where can I buy a motorway vignette? You can buy one at the petrol station or at the tobacconist.
What should I do in the event of a fire? The entire hotel is equipped with a fire alarm system. Emergency exits are clearly marked, and escape route plans are displayed on the inside of each room door. If the fire alarm sounds, please exit the hotel and wait at the assembly point behind the hotel by the transformer.
