Active all year round

The Grossarltal valley lies nestled between the Hohe Tauern and Niedere Tauern ranges. Mountains rise on all sides, while the valley itself has an atmosphere of calm you feel straight away. A holiday in Salzburger Land means hiking, biking, skiing (across more than 80 kilometres of slopes!), and memorable culinary moments after your outdoor adventures. Golden larch trees and white snow on holiday in Salzburger Land

In autumn, the larches turn a brilliant gold, and on clear days, the views stretch all the way to the glaciers. Then the first snowfall transforms the valley into a winter landscape straight out of a picture book, and the Grossarltal-Dorfgastein ski area opens its more than 80 kilometres of slopes. The new ten-seater Kieserl gondola takes you up the mountain quickly and comfortably. Those looking for adventure beyond the groomed pistes can head out on guided ski tours across untouched slopes, while snowshoe walks lead through snow-covered Alpine scenery. Meanwhile, cross-country skiers can glide across 25 kilometres of trails, and families can race downhill on toboggans. A particular highlight is the Salzburg Mountain Advent – so atmospheric that even the Christ Child might choose to holiday in Salzburger Land.

New name, same warm welcome

Hotel Gratz is now Ziach & Candy. And yes, there’s a bit of a love story behind the name. A nod to Florian’s music that keeps spirits high in the evenings. To Daniela’s cakes and sweet treats that make afternoons that little bit better. To Maria and Sepp, who started it all. And to you, because you keep coming back to see us. The name may have changed, but the heart of the place hasn’t – still right here in the middle of the Großarltal valley.
