How the Ziach & Candy came to be
The story of your accommodation near Salzburg begins where many good stories begin: with two people crossing paths at just the right moment. Florian and Daniela met at the Hotel Edelweiß, both with the same spark in their hearts and the same dream in their minds. They wanted to run a hotel that was different – one with its own character, warmth, and unmistakable charm.
Florian brings the music. He plays the “Ziach”, the Styrian button accordion, which you may know from Alpine huts and mountain festivals. When he plays, you hear the mountains and valleys and get a deep sense of his homeland. Daniela brings the sweetness. She bakes beautiful cakes that taste like grandma made them and carry the comforting warmth of home. And when the door to the kitchen of this very special accommodation in Austria swings open, the whole place seems to fill with the scent of comfort.
These two passions combined to become the hotel’s name. Ziach for the sound that touches the soul. Candy for the sweetness that brings joy. Two passions, one promise: here, everything is personal. The name Ziach & Candy says exactly who we are and what we stand for: two people doing what they love – and sharing that passion with you.
Our philosophy: stay true, be bold
Sure, we could have called our hotel Alpine Bliss, Mountain Dream, or Nature Retreat. Names that sound appealing and promise all sorts of things. But that wouldn’t be us. We’re the Ziach & Candy. We stand for authenticity you can feel, flavours that stand the test of time, and active days that leave you feeling wonderfully alive.
We’ll take you on bike rides and hikes to places you’d never discover on your own. We know every trail, every peak, and every mountain hut. Daniela welcomes you with sweet treats that delight from the first bite. Together, we help you create moments that linger long after the day is done. Head into the mountains, out into nature, and back down into tranquillity. No empty phrases, no polished clichés – just genuine warmth.

Our hotel is an ideal base for hikers, ski enthusiasts, and slope-soaring fans alike. A home from home for those who love being active outdoors just as much as they appreciate peace, warmth, and good food afterwards. Here, you’ll find both: adventure outside and comfort within. The former Hotel Gratz has grown into something new, and Daniela and Florian have dedicated themselves to carrying forward what Maria and Sepp began. With Florian’s music and Daniela’s cakes, the Ziach & Candy has become a place where home has its own sound and flavour.
